Carroll is a skilled, empathic coach and small-group facilitator who has worked with a wide variety of people to help them reach their potential and overcome obstacles to their success. Her feedback is insightful, practical, and immediately applicable. She has helped hundreds of managers to improve their ability to coach and develop employees and improve business-unit performance.

Her academic background includes teaching fellowships at Yale University, among which was a Prize Teaching Fellowship for excellence in undergraduate teaching. At Carleton College she held the position of Academic Computing Coordinator in Information Technology Services, and afterward became Director of the Language Resource Center at the University of Mississippi.

Carroll earned the Master of Arts degree in Counseling at Wake Forest University and the Master of Philosophy in German Literature at Yale University. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Carroll was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Stuttgart.

She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in North Carolina and a National Certified Counselor, and has held counseling internships at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital and Family Service of the Piedmont.

She is a member of the American Counseling Association and Chi Sigma Iota, the national honor society for counseling graduates.
