Phyllis Van Hoy
Phyllis has over 25 years experience in management and leadership skills, assessments, strategic planning and consulting, and as a trainer, presenter, facilitator, professional speaker, personal and professional coach. She also has experience as a manager in personal lines and commercial insurance. Her experience has taken her to claims, finance and accounting, human resources, corporate relations, sales and corporate education and communication. She has also worked in the non-profit sector of adult education for community colleges. Her primary focus is on bringing out the best in individuals and organizations to maximize potential and achievements.
Phyllis has the M.B.A. degree from the University of Phoenix and a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina. She is a certified program planner, and is a certified professional development coach and certified diversity coach. She is a member of the American Society of Training and Development, the Society of Human Resource Management, and the North Carolina Community College System for Adult Education, as well as a past member of the International Society for Performance Improvement and the Society of Insurance Educators.
As a dedicated advocate of excellence she achieved the Chairman’s Award in her previous career which is the highest level awarded in the organization and was also awarded the highest level award for her community service. She is a member of the America’s Promise mentor program and supports local community activities. As a performer, she has enjoyed singing the National Anthem for several professional sports events, has performed in England with choral groups, and is a local jazz performer.
